Anti-aging skincare that’s under $20 and actually works is definitely hard to come by these days. But, let me tell you . . . I have fallen head over heels in love with one and it desperately needs to be shared. Yes, it’s that good. I discovered this brand when I was searching on Amazon for a firming lotion for my legs, after years of trying so many different ones and being disappointed after each one.
Let’s Take A Look At My History:
I tried Maelys – that overly advertised brand on all the social media channels. Their B-Flat lotion seemed to work, but it came with a high price tag, not much product and girl . . . did it burn! I have to admit, I did purchase it again, but I couldn’t deal with the burning and cost – it just didn’t seem worth it to me. Their marketing is great though! It really sold me on it.
Jergen’s Firming Lotion was another product I tried and with so many high reviews, I was really hopeful that this would make a difference on my sagging (what an awful word) thighs. It did moisturize well, didn’t burn and had a great price point, making it very affordable – but again, the results were less than amazing. In fact, I didn’t see any results at all. I also gave their “Natural Glow” firming tanning lotion a whirl and did really like it – and, although it didn’t necessarily tone up my skin, the color was great and helped with making my legs appear slimmer and more youthful.
Now let’s talk about M3 Naturals Anti-Cellulite Massage Oil. With over 68,000 positive reviews on Amazon, I was super excited about this one. I would apply on wet skin after a shower or bath and rub in most nights. Although it was an oil and felt a bit greasy, it did give my skin that extra barrier of moisture. As far as tightening up my skin, it didn’t live up to its claims.
I’m 48. I know as you age, your skin ages, too . . . I get it. I also understand that there is no miracle cream for aging skin, other than taking more extreme cosmetic measures. But, I wanted something that lived up to its marketing claims. Is that too much to ask? Nope, as I learned . . . it wasn’t.
Let me introduce you to Medix 5.5 if you haven’t yet heard of this brand. It is made in Chicago and stands behind the “Medix Method” – cleanse, treat, boost. Their Glycolic Acid + Lactic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash is THE BOMB, helping with skin concerns such as:
- Dry, Rough Skin
- Keratosis Pilaris
- Razor Bumps
- Dry Elbows, Knees, Feet
- Calluses
- Skin that doesn’t seem to ‘absorb’ lotion
- Dirt, Oil, & Keratin Build Up.
- Ingrown Hairs
This product is the first step in achieving a smoother, more youthful appearance. The second step is one of their treatment creams and the third step is their “booster serum.” Or, if you’re like me, you combine a couple to help with multiple concerns. Again, my main concern was sagging skin, which is why I chose their Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Body Wash & Retinol + Ferulic Acid Body Cream – a two-piece bundle. Yes, they have bundles, too! Within a week or so, I really saw a difference in my thighs.
I then started using their Glow Bright Bundle to help with age spots and discoloring on my chest and arms. Did it work – it did! My skin looked lighter, brighter and less damaged. I have purchased Medix 5.5 more than twice now and I’m no longer on a mission to find a great anti-aging skincare line. No, I wasn’t paid for or given free products to promote this. I genuinely saw a difference and continue to use these products daily.
One more perk I forgot to mention and it’s a biggie! You can use Medix 5.5 products on your face, too and I do. It has helped with fine lines and wrinkles, as well. Needless to say, I absolutely love this line of skincare. It has proven to me over and over that it really works. If you don’t believe me . . . I highly recommend you try it out for yourself. Pinky promise I wouldn’t steer you wrong.
